Using a specially designed, exclusive blend of the most advanced High Output LEDs,

we have created an LED bar that emits an enormous amount of light with a very high PAR value, covering a wide area with diffuse flood lighting. We do not use lenses on our LEDs to concentrate the light into a small area of high intensity, as this creates “dark zones” that restrict growth and are unsuitable for creating lush planted environments or naturally illuminated vivariums. The JungleDawn LED bar provides a light spectrum that replicates the visible portion of natural sunlight as faithfully as possible.

Every form of life has evolved to utilize the energy of the sun across the full terrestrial spectrum. The balance and intensity of this spectrum are fundamental prerequisites for the survival and growth of all species.

Unfiltered sunlight could be described as 100% bioavailable; any deviation from natural sunlight results in a corresponding reduction in the percentage of bioavailability of that particular light source.

Our full-spectrum LED system has a color temperature of 6200 Kelvin—a value that falls well within the accepted range for “natural sunlight”—and works perfectly in combination with Arcadia Reptile UV lamps, providing clean, natural-looking illumination for both you and your animals.

The light within the visible portion of the terrestrial spectrum includes the Photosynthetic Active Response Curve; this is the spectral curve that activates photosynthesis in terrestrial plants.

The JungleDawn LED bar uses the latest-generation diodes that emit all visible wavelengths of light, from blue through red, rather than relying on separate red and blue diodes that limit the PAR value.

As a result, the JungleDawn LED bar achieves a high level of PUR (Photosynthetically Usable Radiation) and a high CRI (Color Rendering Index), without producing the unnatural “purple tint” associated with some plant lighting.

But don't plants need to be exposed to blue and red light in order to photosynthesize?

Indeed, plants need exposure to all wavelengths within the terrestrial electromagnetic spectrum, while maintaining their natural balance. Each wavelength is equally vital, as it provides the plant with the appropriate energy for optimal growth, provided that the overall quantity of light is sufficient.

The JungleDawn LEDs produce all wavelengths of visible light in a natural balance, without using separate colored diodes. In this way, each diode is “full-spectrum” within its own color range and provides the appropriate amount of red and blue light within its beam.
