The most common tortoises found in terrariums include the Greek tortoise ( Testudo hermanni ), the Mediterranean tortoise ( Testudo graeca ), the marginated tortoise (Testudo marginata ), and the Russian tortoise ( Testudo horsfieldii ). Plant-based ingredients dominate the diet of these species—especially grasses, herbs, and flowers. With this group in mind, we have prepared Biorept L—a multi-ingredient food in the form of sticks for daily feeding. Its carefully selected composition of natural plant-based ingredients meets the nutritional needs of herbivorous tortoises. Its composition is based on grasses, including timothy grass, which makes the food highly palatable. The addition of dandelion, ribwort plantain, and marigold flowers provides valuable nutrients and an attractive aroma. The excellent taste and aroma of the sticks make the animals eager to eat them. A reduced protein level combined with an increased fiber level ensures healthy, balanced skeletal development and proper shell formation. A suitable calcium to phosphorus ratio (2:1), along with vitamins, trace elements, and macronutrients, prevents the development of rickets.
