Some animals kept in reptile enclosures cannot drink water from bowls, as in the wild they hydrate mainly from water droplets that collect on plant leaves (chameleons, Morelia viridis, Corallus caninus, Gecko–Rhacodactylus, Uroplatus, Phelsuma). The Water Dripping Tree simulates this natural method of water intake by recycling the water and directing it to the top of the structure. From there, the water gradually flows from leaf to leaf, creating droplets that allow the animals to hydrate just as they would in their natural environment.
